I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.......

OK so it may not have snowed on Christmas Day so I think technically it wasn't a 'white Christmas' per say but there was still plenty of snow on the ground and I think it snowed the next day anyways. This year we opted not to travel home for Christmas (as you are all no doubt aware) and instead we invited Dave and Mandy over to spend the holidays with us here in snowy Canada. Not having to travel internationally (as we have the last 2 Christmases) was a big load off, I cannot imagine travelling such long haul flights with Emily at the age that she is right now. Waking up in our own house and celebrating here was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Sure it would have made the day just that little bit more perfect to have been able to spend it with everyone that we love and cherish but we still had a very memorable and amzing day with just the 6 of us. Watching the kids open pressies and explore new toys was lovely and then looking out over the family putting the finishing touches on our snowman whilst smelling our yummy turkey cooking in the kitchen was wonderful. The weeks leading up to Christmas  I practiced (and I think perfected) my eggnogg making skills so on Christmas day Mandy and I did what I understand to be the traditional thing and drank waaaaay too much eggnogg although sadly we did not get tipsy only incredibly full! Thankfully we went skiing for the first time just after Christmas day and I am pretty sure, with all the falling down and getting back up that we had to do, we worked it off.

Waiting patiently to open some pressies.

Thanks for the Maximus Draganoid Grandpa & Nana Yvonne!!

Thanks for the Captain Underpants books Jean & Colleen (He is just about finished the last book now!)

Riley just loves the box set of Captain Underpants books that he got from Jean and Colleen, he blew up the inflatable Captain Underpants immediately and whenever he sat with Aunty Mandy to read he would hold the inflatable Captain Underpants on his lap, when not 'in use' he sits on Riley's bedhead right next to the box set of books. I have no idea what we will do when we finish the last book, Riley will be lost without them to look forward to each night.

It's all about the accessories!!

Thanks for the guitar and microphone set Grandpa and Nana Yvonne, now I don't have to steal or fight for Riley's ones!!
Emily was singing a little song on her new microphone even before I could get the set out of the box!

Ummm Bec? I think he likes them???

Dave & Mandy looking pretty pleased with the progress on the snowman.

This is a pic of one of my fav Chrissy pressies, my new dinner set!

Dave & Mandy totally rocking the Christmas Bon Bon hat look LOL!! As he does every year Riley insisted that we all wear the hats whilst we ate.

He always looks so cute in his over-sized hat!

Emmy and her thumbs up, now don't bother me whilst I am eating face......

Thanks Bec/Cassie, this scarf has already been put to work keeping me nice and warm.

Too cute to pull off the bikie bandana look I think, esp whilst stocking up on Christmas cookies.

Our little fairy princess Emily although if you ask me I think she looks more like a little angel here. She just loves dressing up so Aunty Tania hit the nail on the head with this gift, thanks Aunty Tania.

LOL! I'm glad that Brad likes the gloves... I probably wouldn't have worn them to drink my coffee but each to his or her own... LOL!

LOVE the pic of Emily accessorising - that little cutie can teach me a few things!!
