The RV!!!

We have long wanted to do some RVing....and now we can! We found a bargain on Kijiji, travelled 6 hours to look at it and bought it on the spot. We picked it up a few weeks later and are all keen to take it out on the road...

A visit from Toni and Hamish

Another post back in time - apologies. In May we were so lucky to have a visit from my cousin Toni and her boyfriend Hamish as they made their way across Canada from Vancouver to Montreal. Sadly the timing wasn't great as Emily was really unwell again but it was so lovley to see them and so hard to let them go. Riley really enjoyed having them around - so much so that he even faked sick at school so that he could come home and spend more time with them. When he got home he and Hamish disappeared into his special room in the basement and played lego FOR 5 HOURS! Only stopping when we called them up for dinner.

A dinosaur display at Science North. It took me ages to convince Emily that it was not real and that it woud not eat her only to find out (once she was very close to it) that the bloody thing is animated and it roars and moves it's head around - yep she was pretty well scared silly after that!

A Day at the Lake with the Caversons.

At the beginning of July we were lucky enough to get an invitation from our good friends, the Caversons, to spend the day at their cottage on Lake Tyson which is about a 30min drive from here and very close to Killarney. The kids both had a ball and swam for hours, the lake is shallow enough in most places that I was able to sit up on the shore and enjoy the lovely company and conversations of some wonderful women! We cannot wait to do it again one day.

A Day at the Beach, Sudbury Style.....

Apologies for the topsy turvey posts date wise. May saw us spending the day at a local beach here in Sudbury with Lisa, Mallick and Drea. Moonlight Beach is a cute little beach, I say cute and little because you can see from one end of the beach to the other from anywhere on the beach. It is on one edge of Ramsay Lake (the same lake that we went ice skating on a few months earlier just in a different spot).

One of the things I like best about this beach is that it is not too deep (and there is also no rips to get caught in LOL!)

Day trip to Killarney with the Aubes (pronounced Obeys)

Mid June saw us taking advantage of some lovely warmer weather and heading South to Killarney where we enjoyed a fish and chip lunch and a lovley walk.

Emily fell over on our way up to see the light house and so Daddy had to carry her all the way and decided to pick her some pretty flowers to cheer her up - she was Daddy's girl alright.

My very own Guitar Hero....

This year we decided to yield to Riley's pleas to buy him a guitar and see where he takes it. We started with an inexpensive second hand acoustic guitar, we found a local clinic and booked him in for lessons. They usually do not take such young children but they thought they would give him a go and then let me know whether to bother bringing him back the following week or wait another year. After just one lesson they said he was really good at it and they accpeted him as a student. He has been having weekly lessons for 4 months now and is still really keen and still really enjoying it. His teacher, Chad (who is a dead wringer for Toby Mcguire) is very pleased with his progress.

So after a couple of months learning on the acoustic we decided to let Riley earn his electic guitar. He was very dedicated to his evening practices and quickly earned his way to his electric guitar....now of course it is all about the electric.....

The gig bag behind him was a gift from the owners of the clinic where he takes lessons as a reward for doing so well on his Grade One end of year report card! What a lucky and spoilt boy he is!
