Life's Tough....

Life's tough when you're just a little bubba, and obviously very tiring too........ When this little girl wants to sleep there is no stopping her and definitely no waking her! Here she is catching a few zzzzz's in her swing which is pretty much her favourite place to hang out (and sleep.....).

Thanks Aunty Little Bec!

It seems when you are 4 years old the Birthday fun never stops! Aunty Little Bec, wisely gave me some money to buy Riley's birthday present. We have been thinking a lot lately that we want him to spend more time outside playing so I decided to get him this slam ball set (or I seem to remember it being called something like Totem Tennis). At first when he opened it he didn't know what it was and so was a little disappointed, however once we got it set up he soon realised it's value (PHEW!). Now it is one of his favourite toys and the best thing is that he can play it by himself or one of us

can join in with him to double the fun! Thanks Aunty Little Bec, how did you know?

5 Weeks Old Today & 4 Years Old Today

So when Em was born I hadn't realised that there was exactly 5 weeks separating Riley's and Emily's birthdays but there you go. So on Tuesday Emily was 5 weeks old and Riley of course was 4 years old. Emily has really gorwn and changed so much in the last week. She is smiling more regularly now, the curtains seem to get her biggest and best smiles so far but Brad, Riley and I also get a few too. Wednesday morning I was on the phone with Raechel and for most of the conversation Emily was smiling up at me. Very cute and, poor Raechel, also very distracting. Emily is also becomming a lot more aware of her surroundings in the last week too. Her little eyes dart all over the place now checking everything out. She especially loves laying on her playmat or laying in her cot looking up at her new mobile. I took her to the clinic to be weighed again this morning and she is now a neat 3.8kgs. My little girl is growing and changing so fast, I can only hope that this blog can help to keep you all up to date with her growth and changes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY!!

So today is Riley's 4th birthday. He has been so good the last few weeks with all the adjustments needed with Emily's arrival that we really wanted to make him feel special this morning. Earlier in the year on Mother's Day the boys brought me breakfast in bed which Riley thoroughly enjoyed and he said to me on that morning "I can't wait until it's kid's day mummy and I get to have breakfast in bed" so we thought it would be a nice idea to serve him up some brekky in bed this morning. He got to have his favourites which are French Toast and a DeCaf coffee. He told us that this was his best birthday ever this morning so I am guessing that he really enjoyed himself, not to mention being spoilt with pressies (I have been collecting over the year and didn't realise until last night how many piled up).

4 Weeks Old Today

I guess in what has become my tradition I am posting this 1 day late again. Emily was 4 weeks old yesterday and I think from the pics it is obvious that she has grown even since last week. At her weigh in last week she was 3.28kgs which meant a 280g weight gain in one week so that was good. It will be interesting as always to see how much she has gained tomorrow morning.

Hatch Family Fun Day

OK So we had a busy weekend and on Sunday we were treated to a Family Fun Day at one of the local Theme Parks here called Gold Reef City. Brad's work paid for everything including entrance and food and also provided each of us (including Emily) with a Snack Pack which was a Hatch backpack filled with snack food, a Hatch hat and sunscreen. We found a section of the park called Kiddies Corner and Riley got to ride dodgem cars all by himself (adults were not allowed) which of course he just loved. He also got to 'drive' a vintage car (just like the ride at Dreamworld) and tonnes of other stuff. We left the park as it was closing at 5pm and only then realised that we had been there 6 1/2hrs! We are definitely going to make a trip back again soon as, in true theme park style, there was so much that we didn't get to see and do.

Pumpkin Pics

I just thought that Brad's pumpkin carving deserved a post of it's own so here are a couple of pics. Not bad for a first effort I think!
