I guess in what has become my tradition I am posting this 1 day late again. Emily was 4 weeks old yesterday and I think from the pics it is obvious that she has grown even since last week. At her weigh in last week she was 3.28kgs which meant a 280g weight gain in one week so that was good. It will be interesting as always to see how much she has gained tomorrow morning.

Hatch Family Fun Day
OK So we had a busy weekend and on Sunday we were treated to a Family Fun Day at one of the local Theme Parks here called Gold Reef City. Brad's work paid for everything including entrance and food and also provided each of us (including Emily) with a Snack Pack which was a Hatch backpack filled with snack food, a Hatch hat and sunscreen. We found a section of the park called Kiddies Corner and Riley got to ride dodgem cars all by himself (adults were not allowed) which of course he just loved. He also got to 'drive' a vintage car (just like the ride at Dreamworld) and tonnes of other stuff. We left the park as it was closing at 5pm and only then realised that we had been there 6 1/2hrs! We are definitely going to make a trip back again soon as, in true theme park style, there was so much that we didn't get to see and do.
Pumpkin Pics
Halloween
On Saturday afternoon we went to a little Halloween street party at our friend Christine's place. The kids all got dressed up and did some trick or treating which was very new for Riley. We had some scary treats to eat too, Brad & I made some spiders, bugs in dirt sandwiches and a red jelly hand and Carolyn made eyeballs. Riley really enjoyed getting dressed up in his skeleton costume and he really liked that Brad, Emily and I also got dressed up. Emily wore a little Tiger costume that we borrowed from Michelle, I dressed as a witch (I figured with my mood lately I could pull off a convincing witch) and Brad went as Uncle Fester. Brad carved his first pumpkin (and did a very good job too) and Riley got to scoop all the seeds out. Even though we were two hours late to the party which meant we onlyl got to spend about 1 hour there it was all good fun.

Dainfern Family Fun Day
Last weekend our estate (Dainfern) held a Family Fun Day down at the soccer fields where Riley plays soccer. They had a massive food and drinks tent which was catered by one of the local portuguese restaurants. We had a big tray of yummy seafood and Brad indulged in a few of their drinks which he later found out (upon googling when we got home) contained vodka - could explain why he kept going back for more..... There was some jumping castles, a paintball area, train rides, pony rides, tatooing, face painting and loads more. The whole day cost us R30 (30 Rand) plus food which equates to about $5 aussie. As the soccer fields are up one end of the estate there was a good view of the other 1/2 of the estate so I have included a pic overlooking the estate. Riley got himself some 'silly string' and him and Brad had a great time clowning around with it pretending it was 'boogers' so I couldn't help but take some pics and include them here. I guess I will find out pretty soon if Brad looks at the blog regularly as I know I will hear about it when he sees a pic of himself with 'silly string boogers' LOL
Dress Up Day at School
Last week Riley had the first of two dress-up days at school. The theme was to do with the sea etc, so all the boys came as pirates (ARGH!) and the girls as Mermaids. There was the odd one or two that came as sea creatures like fish etc. I think the boys liked the idea of coming as pirates as they got to bring their swords to school. The second photo is of Riley with one of his school friends David. David is really sweet and just loves Emily, he always comes and says hi to us when we drop Riley off in the mornings and he likes to give Em a little kiss on her cheek. He was also fascinated with my preggy belly when I was pregnant so I think he is just amazed that Em is what was in there all that time. The last pic is of a few of Riley's classmates. The girls on the left are or have been at one time or another his 'girlfriends'. I cannot keep up as it changes almost daily. Some days it is just one of them and other days it is all of them. I guess monogomy is not an issue when you are only 3..... The little girl who is the 3rd one in is Beth and she is his most steady girlfriend. She is very forward and runs up to give him kisses (when she is his girlfriend) in the mornings when we arrive. Riley is very shy about it when it is happening but it's almost all he can talk about when she is not around. Very cute indeed. The next dress-up day is next Friday and it is for Halloween so Riley is going to wear his skeleton costume that we have bought him for Trick or Treating this weekend. Our friends are having a street party on Saturday and all the kids are dressing up and then going Trick or Treating. It is very exciting especially seeing as how it is our first go at it. I will be sure to take a few pics and post them here.

3 Weeks Old Today
So our little angel is now 3 weeks old. We are still being stopped everywhere we go and people ask how many days old she is as she is still so tiny. Last weeks weigh in saw her at a neat 3kgs, we have another weigh in tomorrow. She is settling in to her routine quite nicely especially at night time which is where it really matters. She either wakes or is woken between 10pm and 11pm and then she wakes herself between 2am and 3am and then not again until between 6am and 7am. He daytime feeds and naps are a bit over the place but right at the moment that suits me as I am in and out of here all day every day so it helps that she is flexible. Over the weekend she gave Brad and I a coupel of big smiles which just made our day I can tell you. Riley is still very much in love with her and cannot get enough kisses and cuddles. I think he would breastfeed her himself if nature allows. Thank goodness he has not seen Meet The Fockers or he would be wanting to order one of the Manery Glands for himself........

2 Weeks Old Today
Ah how the time flies hey! So Emily is 2 weeks old today (well yesterday actually as I am late posting). I took her for her first immunisations last week which was no fun at all. She decided that it hurt so much she would just hold her breath until she turned blue! Not a trick I want to see her pull too often I can tell you. The nurse also weighed her and as of last Thursday she was back at birth weight which is good news. She will go again tomorrow for another weigh in.

1 Week Old Today
Playtime
Here are just a couple of pics taken on the weekend. These are Emily having some play time in her swing under the ever-watchful eye of her big brother. One of my friends has been kind enough to pass on a baby swing that her son has outgrown and so far Emily seems to really like sitting in it out in the lounge room where she can hear all of us pottering around. She also manages some good sleeps in there too, this girl can sleep through just about anything so far.

Just another couple of pics....
When we were in hospital I was in the nursery at the veiwing window showing Emily off to a couple of friends when a lady asked me if I wanted her to take Emily's picture for the hospital website. Why not I thought. So laying in her ugly plastic crib this is what she came up with. I almost cried when she brought the picture to me the next day.
This is one of a series of shots that we got of Riley and Emily together the first night she was at home. He desperately wanted her to sleep the whole night in his bed with him. He is so good with her and still calls her his little princess. I think that he is as much in love with her as we are. I will endeavour to take some more of the two of them together to post on her in the next few days.
