So I am ashamed to admit it has been almost 2 whole years since my last blog. Facebook is partly responsible of course as it is quicker and easier to post pics with quick descriptions there and people actually get to see them rather than creating a blog post that not too many people log on to see.
Nothing much has happened would be the quick update but in that time we have actually done quite a lot. We have had 2 trips home to Australia and a holiday in California. Riley has entered and almost finished Grade 3, Emily has started her schooling in JK (Junior Kindergarten) and is almost finished. Riley has taken up Korean Martial Arts and competed in two tournaments and Emily has taken up Gymnastics and is doing very well. I have returned to the workforce (after an almost 5 year absence) and absolutely LOVE my job. We have all made a lot of new friends in the past two years and we have our end date for our overseas adventure. We are all going to miss our friends and life here terribly but are really looking forward to returning home.
Now back to blogging......

Our first trip away in the RV to Wabagishik Lake
This past weekend was a long weekend and so we took the opportunity to head away for the weekend to Silver Maple Campground at Wabagishik Lake. It is only about a 45 minute drive away from home but, being our first stay in the RV, we wanted to stay fairly close to town in case something didn't go according to plan. We need not have worried as everything went smoothly. Although the weather wasn't fantastic we all still managed to have a great time and spent a lot of time doing things together as a family. We roasted marshmallows over an open fire (of which Emily wanted nothing to do with - aside from the actual roasting that is.....). We roasted spider weiners (thanks to the Aube's for showing us how), we played board games, played in the park and on the sand at the edge of the lake and the boys even got in a spot of fishing. All in all a great trip and we cannot wait to do it again SOON!
Day One: All set up and ready for a little walkies.
The view from our RV. Considering we booked REALLY last minute (like Friday night of a long weekend kind of last minute) we did extremely well!
Emily enjoying some fun on the tyre swing.
Riley enjoying some fun on the tyre swing.
Walking along the path back to our RV after a little exploring.
The other side of our RV
Daddy and the kids relaxing under the awning.
Our first family dinner in the RV (next time I think I will sit over the other side - waaaaay too close to the camera here LOL!)
Emmy with her Barbie fishing rod and the butterfly casting training thingy (yep I think that is the technical fishing term for it.....)
Riley sorting out his tackle box.
Casting practice out the front of the RV.
He got the hang of it pretty quickly actually.
Daddy giving Emily some one on one tutoring.
and away she goes.....
Not too shabby eh....
Casting practice together. We felt bad for the little boy across from us, we think he wanted to join in but he had a hook on the end of his line and there is no way that was going to end well....
Getting set for sleeping our first night in the RV
Mummy and Daddy's bed....looks good eh? Was comfy too.
Day One: Roasting marshmallows
Day Two: What would a morning be without a decent morning coffee?? We sure do 'camp' in style!
or morning cartoons that just happened to be about roasting marshmallows whilst camping!
Day Two: Emmy ready to go exploring.
Daddy fixing the swing set after noticing some loose bolts.
It started to rain pretty heavily so we took shelter outside the shower block....the kids kept themselves amused for a while.
Riley checking to see if it was light enough to venture out again
My two boys - look alike much?
A little headbutting fun.
Across from our RV
Emmy playing on the beach whilst the boys played a boardgame together in the RV
Riley ready with the rods to try a spot of fishing.
Emmy roasting spider weiners....how impressed does she look?
Riley enjoying some spider weiner
Daddy and the kids roasting the weiners for lunch
The boys heading off on their little fishing adventure. It was too hard for Emily to navigate so we let her have a nap and the boys went off together.
They got a couple of nibbles but didn't catch anything, they had a nice few hours out there together though.
Emily got a treat from another camper for doing her poos in the toilet. Don't you just love discovering things in your pictures after they are taken??? Do you notice anything funny?
Enjoying the swings again
We ran out of regular sized marshmallows (goodness only knows where they went.......Riley.....) so we pulled out the mini marshmallows, apparently they did not taste so good toasted LOL!
Our view at night. This is the best pic I have as I am too lazy and impatient to set things up properly.....sorry Father and Lil Sis....
So that sweet little heart shaped ring candy turned out to be pretty nasty and the sugar high soon kicked in and Emily decided it would be a lot of fun to body slam her brother as he was browsing all our pics on the computer....she could not stop giggling for about 1/2hr.....was kinda funny.
Brad entertaining our kids and the Grandsons of the owners on our last day.
Emily playing on some of the play things.
More 'fun' for Brad - who needs a gym right?
until we saw our 'little friend'........
All whilst I was busy trying to get a decent pic of this barn. All the rubbish around it was detracting from it and annoying me....black and white looks alright but I still know that it is there.....
I tried cutting out the sides which cleans it up a bit but then we have lost 1/2 the barn.....one day I will find my perfect barn to happy snap.....
We all had such a great time that we hung around until we really had to go home and only got home at around 5pm on Monday arvo. We are all really keen to get going and do some longer trips soon.
